Equipment developed according to the studies carried out with the Pfefferkorn method for the determination of the degree of workability of ceramic materials.
This method is based on the principle that the plasticity of clay can be determined by the compression and relative deformation of cylindrical samples containing different water percentages. They are compressed by letting a piston with a defined weight fall on them.
This equipment is provided with two scales showing the deformation of the specimen: one in mm. and the other according to Pfefferkorn’s experiences.
The equipment also includes a tool to form the samples.
