KILN WITH A MOBILE BOTTOM mod. FSM
A kiln with a mobile bottom: the lower part of the kiln, where you put the material to be fired, is mobile. The bottom of the kiln consists of an extractable trolley that, once it has been loaded with the material to be fired, is put underneath the kiln and is raised by a special mechanism until it forms an integral part of the kiln itself.
The kiln consists of a steel structure, stove-enamelled with epoxy paints at 180°C.
The thermal insulation consists of panels made of ceramic fibres with a high alumina content, which are suitable for the working temperature of the kiln.
The kiln is heated by Kanthal molybdenum silicide elements, that do not need a protective atmosphere and do not show ageing phenomenons. This has the advantage of a simple and safe kiln operation and a long life time of the heating elements, with the possibility to replace also one single element only without changing the behaviour of the other ones.
The temperature and the firing curve are controlled by a microprocessor based controller, model K1PX, with which it is possible to program 4 cycles of 8 steps each.
